Kororā / penguin update

13 August 2024
Our specialist seabird ecologist, Dr Leigh Bull, completed her first Korora monitoring session of the season this week.

She reports three occupied burrows, likely with birds on eggs, and lots of Kororā sign on the breakwater rocks generally.  The results are consistent with monitoring sessions at the same time in previous years and show that our local population of Korora appear to be thriving.

With kororā on eggs, hopefully chicks will follow in the next few months.

Please ensure all dogs are on leash if you are visiting the breakwater at Kennedy Point.
